Title IX Information
Title IX is the portion of the Federal Educational Amendments of 1972 which prohibits sex discrimination in Federally assisted education programs. Specifically, Title IX states:
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."
The governing regulations cover all aspects of sex discrimination in schools with regard to admissions, treatment of students, and employment, including sexual harassment.
The Orange Unified School District is committed to providing equal opportunities for all in the educational programs and activities it conducts, and for all employees consistent with Title IX. In its efforts to comply with Title IX, the Orange Unified School District affirms that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity.
